Too Many Projects

I really wish I could focus.  Unfortunately when it comes to quilting, I truly have ADD.  There are 3 projects that I'm working on now.  1 that I just finished (thankfully) and another I'm going to start.

This is the quilt I just finished. One of the ladies I work with wanted a quilt for a new grand baby. Thankfully I had some finished tops in my closet. I'm going to put a label with all the important information once the baby arrives.

I decided to do a quilt along. I don't normally do them because of my ADD. But I love my quick curve ruler, so I'm going to participate in this one. Check out Jenny's blog for this Medallion Quilt-A-Long.  This is my fabric that I plan to use.  Who knows it could change along the way.

Hopefully the holiday will allow me some time to sew.

Have a great 4th of July!

Better Late Than Never

Finally finished a wedding present, 3 years and 362 days after the wedding.  The couple is getting ready to celebrate their 4th anniversary on Thursday.  I had people sign blocks at the reception and then incorporated them into a quilt.

Teacher Appreciation

School is over for the year.  I officially have a 4th grader and that kind of freaks me out.  The teacher this year was AWESOME!!!  My little caterpillar showed her growing abilities this year with the help of her teacher.  It was so much fun to watch.

So we, yes we, made her a quilt to say thank you.

I pieced the top and put my little helper to work.  She used Modern Twist as the pattern.

Hard at work making her favorite teacher a quilt. #teacherappreciation

Not to bad for the first time she used the laser light to follow a pattern.  I had to laugh while she was working because I could really hear the stitch regulator working when she would take off on a straight area.

9 year old following Modern Twist pantograph

I used a printed panel about teachers from Block Party Studios.  They work perfectly with charm squares.

Someone is pretty excited about her creation.  I'm glad she had fun making it with me.

Pink Spiderweb

I really really really like spiderweb quilts.  This one was fun to do because the colors were so bright.  Managed to finish the binding while watching the KU / North Carolina game.  Go Hawks!!!

Pink Spider

I normally use pantographs to quilt with.  This time I decided to stand on the front of the machine and really try not to freak out.  I did and I'm pretty pleased with my results.

I've been using the template and paper that I bought from Missouri Quilt Co.  The template is great for cutting the crazy shape.  The paper comes off very easy when ready to sew the blocks together.

Can't wait to get started on another one.

Spiderweb - Finished

Another finish for 2013.  This little quilt went to it's new home this morning.  I couldn't have been more excited to give it a baby.  She loved the bright colors.  Not only are the blocks scraps, the binding was scraps and scrap batting.  I think I like my use it up theory.

Spiderweb Finished

I embroidered her name in the bottom of the quilt to make it even more special.

This is another spiderweb that is almost finished.  A fat cat decided it was more fun to hide under than sit on top of.  I was trying to hand sew the binding.  Didn't get very far.

Another Top

I finished up another quilt top.

Dick and Jane Jelly Roll Quilt

The pattern was created by Andrea at Millions of Thoughts.  It's been in the works for a long time.  I finally forced myself to finish it.  I used Dick & Jane fabric and a shade of blue from Moda.  Hopefully I can get it quilted this week when I take a couple days off for Spring Break.

Huge...Scrappy

I finished my king sized scrappy top. It's 2 1/2 inch strips, many of which were from binding. I added quite a few strips from fat quarters in an attempt to use up some fabric. King Sized Scrappy

It's 120" wide by 110" long. It will have to be quilted by someone other than me since my quilting machine frame is too small. Can't wait to get it on the bed. It will definitely add a lot of color to the room.

Next on the list is the scrappy spider web I've been working on.

 Have a great day!
