I just have to share this picture first. We have a "lake" behind our office and it's the home to many geese (Canada geese). Those geese have got to be some of the dirtest birds on earth. Maintenance came up with an idea to try to keep the birds in check up near the buildings. Here is the resident living in our "lake".
Don't worry, I don't think we have too many alligators in Kansas. It's a plastic head that has been anchored to the bottom of the lake. The geese are staying at the other end of the lake, so he must be scary enough to them.Onto my quiltathon efforts. Tonight I quilted a top that I finished up last week. I did a feather pantograph on it. Lessons learned - busy backgrounds are good. White backgrounds are for the experts (which is not me). Thankfully this is for a very forgiving friend.
Now for my question to my reading audience- Why do I get these nubbies? I know it's normally a bobbin / tension issue of some sort. I start off great at the top of the quilt. No nubbies, everything looks wonderful. They start at the bottom of the quilt, actually the last 2 rows. They are very sporadic. I might go 1/2 way across the quilt without any and then all of a sudden nubbies. Any ideas?

You know I don't have a clue about the nubbies...I'm so glad you posted a pic of this quilt. I just love it and the pic I took was sooo blurry. I didn't get more than about an hour to sew yesterday. Maybe today!
Very nice quilt. Can you tell me the name of the brown and blue paisley. I really have to get some. Trying for ages to find nice blue and brown fabrics.

no clue about the nubbies. I think it is a tension issue...which can be the most frustrating issue of all, I think.
I love the quilt, its beautiful! As for nubbies, I get them too, its a tension issue. I found if I shorten my stich size it helps.
The nubbies on the back of a quilt are from the top thread. You might want to just tighten your top tension just a little. I sometimes get them if my top and bottom thread aren't identical weights.
