I haven't gotten much quilting done lately but I have been busy.
This is a twister top I made. I'm going to call it Freshman 101 since it's all junk food. Also pizza is the staple of any freshman's life.
This is a sweatshirt for my daughter's favorite teacher. She's a Kansas State University Graduate. The embroidery pattern is from Katelyn's Kreative Stitches.
Sweatshirt made for my daughter for Christmas. She asked Santa for a horse. I had to tell her that I already wrote to Santa telling him no more LIVE animals for Christmas. She's not grasping the concept of college or horse - one or the other. I guess I wouldn't at 9 either. My guess is I'd pick the horse as well.
I have been busy with other embroidered clothes and pillowcases. I'm hoping that over my Christmas break, I can get busy sewing on some quilt tops.
Take Care!

Problem? Possibly....
I know I can't be the only quilter that does this. I found the most awesome fabric today and I couldn't help myself. Yes...I bought everything on the bolt (7 5/8 yards). No...I have no earthly idea what I'm going to do with it. Ok, I do have some ideas but nothing I'm willing to share just yet. I just knew that it had to go home with me though.

Random Thought Tuesday
How many Christmas trees do you put up? Just one? More than one?
This year when we put our tree up, I thought that I probably needed to go through the ornaments after the holidays and purge. Mind you I used my out loud voice when thinking that thought. My very astute almost 9 year old announced that we just needed to buy another tree. That would give the old ornaments that stay in the box a home for Christmas and and there wouldn't be any sorting needed. Hmmmm I really hope she got her smarts from me, because that was genius (why didn't I think of it).
I guess I know what I will buying in the after Christmas holiday sales.
Have a great day. (12 days until Christmas in case you are counting)

I can't believe it's November already. I seem to have lost most of 2012 on the blog. I have been stitching, just not posting.
This is a quilt I finished in July. It was given to a very good family friend that loves horses.
I will try to do a better job at posting. Work and life seem to have taken over 2012.

It's Me, Really
It's been a while. This has been a weird year already and 2011 ended on a somewhat crappy note. I just haven't been into blogging. Lots of family stuff going on that has been pretty taxing. Lots of crazy work stuff that hasn't made me a happy person. Just lots in general.
I have been reading all the blogs I subscribe too for ideas and inspiration. There are days though that I feel like I should quite reading and just look at the pictures. I swear people get worked up over the stupidest stuff. Seriously.
I have been doing a bit of stitching. There have been a bunch of t-shirt quilts. I have one to quilt today and another one to start stabilizing.
The quilt below is finished. I think I showed a picture before. Decided it wasn't big enough so I added another row to make it larger. I'm glad I did.
One last picture to share from our much needed family vacation. We all decided that we could get quite used to island time.
I will try not to be a stranger, but can make no guarantees. Life tends to take over...

New Year - 2012
I've been a bit quiet as of late. Lots going on, some good, some not so good. I'm hoping that I can get back into the swing of blogging and stitching.
November and December were very busy embroidery months for me. I think I do most of my business in those 2 months. Between Christmas stocking, personalized gifts and 31 bags, I was a very busy gal. One of my neighbors finally asked who all the people were that were coming and going.
I did get to take a class in November which was fun. It was a beginners class, so I was able to make the whole top that night. After I took this picture, I decided that I will add another row to make the quilt a bit larger. It's nice to be able to go to classes like this because I can spend time visiting as well. Got to meet some very nice ladies and chat with the ladies I know and haven't seen for a while.
I'm trying to get motivated to go sew this evening, but I just haven't been able to muster the energy to walk down the stairs. Sad indeed.
I thought about making some sewing resolutions for this year, but I think I'm just going to wing it and see how much I can get done. Last year I made far more quilts than I thought I could, so it's nice to be able to review those accomplishments.
Take care and happy stitching.
