Scrappy Spider Web

I got my scrappy spider web put together. There will definitely be a few more of this quilt throw into the mix. My friends are work tell me it's just me being picky, but I don't have points. I'm not quite sure what I did to not get points, but they aren't there. Oh well. I'm sure the baby recipient won't even notice and will be more interested in the bright colors.

Scrappy Spider Web Baby Quilt

I'm hoping to get this quilted this week or next.  I will be using more scraps for the binding.

I believe 2013 is become my use it up scrap year.  The plastic totes are overflowing with scraps, so it's time to get busy and use them.  Right now I'm working on a Bonnie/Quiltville scrap top.  I realized that the triangles I have to cut for that quilt are the same size as the Accuquilt Go Die I have so I be using that to speed my cutting up.

In between sewing scrappy blocks, I've been doing some embroidery too.  Lots of 31 bags.  I finally broke down and made a sweatshirt for myself.

Joann's has run a sale on Hoodies since Thanksgiving, so I have piced up a few.  The design is from Katelyn's Kreative Stitches.  I didn't follow her directions and used old T-shirts that were cut up previously to make a t-shirt quilt.

Have a great day!

My Other Blog

I'm going to try to get better at putting my embroidery stuff on my embroidery blog.

I've been busy lately working on embroidery stuff.  I'm hoping to post some pictures that are quilt related tomorrow.

In the meantime, you can go check out my other blog here.

Beach Towels

9 beach towels for a neighbor. She is taking a big family vacation with extended family and thought everyone needed a towel to remember the trip by.

Wayside Waifs Fun

My photographer friend, Brandi, held a pet portrait session on Sunday in order to raise money / items for Wayside Waifs.  I volunteered to make dog bandanas for all of the pooches being photographed.  Here are a few pictures that Brandi shared with me.

I took Buddy and our 2 cats down for pictures.  Buddy was great.  He actually had the nerve to yawn at Brandi while she was trying to take pictures.  The cats were NOT thrilled at their opportunity to shine in the limelight.  Shiner, the dosile easy going cat, became PSYCHO kitty with hissing and growling.  Not too many pictures were taken of him.  Sissy did a bit better, but not much.  Brandi always manages to get good shots, so I'm not too concerned.

Have a great day.

Weekend Projects

Christmas ornaments that look like icicles. I will put some rhinestones on them to make them a little shiny.

Valentine's day hand towels. Made some for me and my mother in law. I have some for Grandma, but they just aren't stitched yet.

My favorite creation for the 2 days. A bag for Grace to carry her tap and ballet shoes in. Poor kid is going to have to be my poster child / walking billboard.

Just so you know, I love my new machine. The thread is doing what it's supposed to be doing. I can hit the button and walk away and not have to babysit the machine. I'm happy happy happy. Or as my dad would say, as happy as a pig in slop. Yep that's me!!!

I also got the Dresden plate quilt trimmed so that I can stitch the back to the front. Then off to it's owner. I'm planning to spend Tuesday watching inaugural festivities and quilting.

Have a great week.
